"Snail Collecting: Sheltering from the Storm" is a merged installation that brings together two previous works—"Snails Need Their Calcium!" and "Storm - 嵐"—to form a unified, immersive narrative. Inspired by childhood memories of walking home from school, gently collecting snails in my umbrella as a storm approached, the piece reflects on the quiet intimacy of those moments.

This installation serves as a meditation on stillness and emotional refuge amidst the chaos of everyday life. Through the simple, tender act of collecting snails, I found a way to slow down, to be present, and to carve out a moment of calm against the rush of the world. The snails, in turn, become symbols of both shelter and exploration—leaving the safety of their shells to engage with the unknown, just as I sought solace in small rituals.

By revisiting this personal memory, "Snail Collecting: Sheltering from the Storm" invites viewers to reflect on their own moments of stillness, and the subtle strength found in embracing slowness during turbulent times.
